This coming Monday sees the start of the 2024 BetVictor Welsh Open at Llandudno's  Venue Cymru  which has already proven to be a huge success since the tournamnent was moved from its' traditional home in the south to the North of Wales last year and promises to be another fascinating week of top-class snooker, despite the notable  absence  of world number two Judd Trump, who has pulled out, with Dwayne Jones coming in to replace him and will take on Liam Highfield. This year's tournament will also see Robert Milkins returning to the scene of his greatest triumph, following his emotional 9-7 victory over 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy in last year's  final , his second ranking title which came just a few months after his securing his first at the 2022 Gibraltar Open.
